Light is always our first priority — it’s what makes your images feel soft, natural, and truly beautiful. The most flattering time to shoot is within two hours of sunrise or sunset, when the sun is low and the light wraps gently around you.
Open shade is one of my favorite lighting conditions for portraits. It gives us soft, even light, natural colors, and smooth skin tones. When we pair that with clean backgrounds and intentional positioning, your images will feel warm, connected, and true to your story.

Throughout your session, my goal is to keep you in soft, even, and flattering light. If we’re in an area with trees or uneven shade that creates patchy light on your skin, I’ll gently guide you to a clearer spot with open shade. This type of lighting gives us smooth, consistent tones and keeps your images looking natural and beautiful.
Most importantly, it keeps the focus exactly where it belongs — on you.

Backgrounds shape so much of how your final images feel. I’m always looking for clean, simple scenes that keep the focus on you — not whatever happens to be behind you. Busy areas, harsh light, or heavy brush can distract or create strong contrasts, so I’ll gently guide you toward spaces that support the moment rather than compete with it.
I love choosing open, natural areas where the light filters softly from behind. This keeps your images feeling bright, airy, and full of depth, instead of getting lost against dark or dense backdrops. My goal is always to place you in environments that feel calm, beautiful, and true to the connection we’re capturing

I’ll guide you through creating a location experience that feels intentional and beautiful.
I’ll help you choose spots with clean, distraction-free backgrounds that highlight why you picked that place in the first place. Throughout your session, I’ll share simple location tips—like finding even light and using open shade—so every image feels soft, natural, and true to the moment.
